Cotswold Chiropractic Health Centre

Welcome to the Cotswold Chiropractic Health Centre, a specialist clinic dedicated to helping you move, feel and function better. Alongside Chiropractic care, we offer medical laser therapy — a modern, evidence-led approach designed to support the body’s natural healing processes and reduce discomfort in a gentle, non-invasive way.

You may also hear this referred to as cold laser therapy, cold laser treatment, or cold level laser therapy. While the names vary, the goal is the same: to support recovery by helping irritated or injured tissues settle and restore normal function — so you can get back to doing the things you enjoy, with confidence.

Our mission is centred on improving health and well-being through positive lifestyle choices, which may include movement, healthy nutrition, and the right treatment at the right time. Don’t worry if that doesn’t match your current habits — we’re here to support you every step of the way.

Our clinic provides care for the whole family, offering both treatment and education to help you maintain a healthy body and mind.

What is Medical Laser Therapy ?

Medical cold laser therapy is a therapeutic light treatment that uses specific wavelengths to support tissue healing and reduce inflammation. Unlike surgical lasers that cut or generate heat, cold laser therapy is designed to be comfortable and gentle — many people feel little to nothing during treatment, aside from a mild warmth from the applicator.

As part of your broader care plan, a laser therapy treatment may be recommended to help with:

  • Tissue irritation and inflammation
  • Tendon and ligament discomfort
  • Muscle tightness and trigger points
  • Joint aches and stiffness
  • Recovery following strain, overuse or injury

At Cotswold Chiropractic Health Centre, we may combine medical laser therapy with hands-on techniques and rehabilitation advice to support a more complete recovery. For some patients, it can also form part of a chiropractic laser treatment approach — used alongside Chiropractic adjustments and mobility work where appropriate.

Every plan is personalised. Your Chiropractor will assess what’s going on, discuss the options with you, and recommend the most suitable approach for your body and your goals.

Our Patients

Our patients come to us for many different reasons. Some are dealing with a specific complaint — such as a flare-up of pain, a sports injury, or restricted movement — while others want help improving how their body feels and performs day to day.

Many people choose cold laser therapy because it’s non-invasive, comfortable and can be a helpful addition when tissues feel “stuck” or slow to settle. Others prefer it because it supports recovery while they continue with work, training, and everyday commitments.

We welcome a wide range of patients — including whole families. Our doors are open to babies, children, parents, grandparents — everyone is part of our extended family.

We also hold a deep passion for sport, exercise and its potential for holistic well-being. Our services extend beyond addressing sports-related injuries; we also support people who recognise the role of good care in improving flexibility, recovery and performance.

What causes your Symptoms ?

The body is designed to heal — but sometimes it needs the right support at the right time. Symptoms such as pain, stiffness, weakness, or restricted movement can come from many factors, including inflammation, overload, poor recovery, movement restrictions, or compensations elsewhere in the body.

The first step is understanding why symptoms are happening. Rather than simply “chasing pain”, we focus on identifying likely root causes through a thorough assessment. This may include:

  • Reviewing your medical history and your current symptoms
  • Discussing what aggravates or relieves the issue
  • Postural and movement assessment
  • Joint mobility and soft tissue examination
  • Neurological and orthopaedic screening where needed

Once we understand your presentation, we can recommend an appropriate plan. For some patients, that plan may include medical laser therapy to support healing and reduce inflammation, alongside targeted rehabilitation and (where appropriate) Chiropractic adjustments.

If needed, we may also recommend further investigations to ensure your care is safe and appropriate.

FAQ

Our Most frequent questions and answers

Medical Laser Therapy is a gentle, non invasive treatment that uses specific wavelengths of light to support the body’s natural healing processes. You may also hear it described as cold laser therapy, cold laser treatment, low level laser therapy or class 4 laser therapy. Unlike surgical lasers, it is not designed to cut or heat tissue. Instead, it is used to help calm irritation, support recovery and improve comfort in the affected area.

Cold laser therapy may be recommended for a range of soft tissue and joint related problems. This can include tissue irritation and inflammation, tendon or ligament discomfort, muscle tightness, trigger points, joint aches and stiffness, and recovery after strain, overuse or injury. At Cotswold Chiropractic Health Centre, it may form part of a wider care plan designed to help you move, feel and function better.

Cold laser treatment is usually very comfortable. Many people feel little to nothing during treatment, while others notice a gentle warmth from the applicator. It is not intended to be painful, which is one reason many patients like it as part of a broader recovery plan.

Medical cold laser therapy is considered a non invasive and well tolerated treatment when used appropriately. As with any treatment, suitability depends on your symptoms, your medical history and the area being treated, which is why assessment is important. At our clinic, any recommendation for laser therapy treatment is based on what is most appropriate for your body and your goals.

Cold laser therapy is very different from surgical or cosmetic laser treatments. Surgical lasers are designed to cut or generate significant heat, while cold laser therapy uses lower level light energy in a gentler way to support tissue healing and recovery. The aim is not to damage tissue, but to encourage a healthier healing response in irritated or injured areas.

Yes, it can. For some patients, medical laser therapy works well alongside hands on treatment, mobility work and rehabilitation advice. At Cotswold Chiropractic Health Centre, it may be used as part of a chiropractic laser treatment approach, where appropriate, to support a more complete recovery and help address both symptoms and function.

The number of treatments needed can vary depending on the condition being treated, how long it has been there, and how your body responds. Some people notice changes fairly quickly, while others need a series of sessions as part of a wider plan. Your chiropractor will assess your symptoms and explain what is most appropriate for you, rather than taking a one size fits all approach.

Not always. While medical laser therapy can be a useful option for many people, the right treatment always depends on the underlying cause of your symptoms. That is why we begin with an assessment and talk through your options clearly. If laser therapy treatment is suitable for you, we will explain how it may fit into your personalised care plan and what you can expect from treatment.
